The process of building a wind farm is fascinating. Once we have determined the best location for the turbines, construction can begin. With turbines that weigh 225 tons and measure 82 metres tall before the hub and blades are even attached, you can imagine how massive and intricate the procedure of building can be! It takes a team of diverse and qualified professionals to get the job done, from engineers, to crane operators, to specialized transport truck drivers and geologists. When you are transporting 41 metre long blades, pouring 40 truck loads of concrete, operating a 440 ton crawler crane and orchestrating a 51 ton nacelle...you begin to appreciate the massive scope of this exciting process!
